If we were to look for a foolproof way to alienate people who want to use any Internet tool, we might as well start by looking at these authentication services that present them with undecipherable characters over garish backgrounds. It’s just like these anti piracy systems that were all the rage in the ‘90s in which players of games were asked to count words in the manuals that came with them, to prove that they had indeed bought an original copy of the game. Did it work? Yes. Did it crack everybody’s patience? Yes.
The ones who put together NuCaptcha have come with an alternative to these captchas that affect conversions negatively by getting in the way of the user, and preventing him from enjoying an application naturally. They have done so by devising a system which does not rely on the recognition of text, but rather on the interaction with a video clip that is played when the user has to authenticate who he is.

And in addition to providing a markedly dynamic alternative to text recognition, a system like this one can be combined with brand messaging right away. In that sense, not only are you ensuring that your visitors are having an amenable time – you are consolidating the image of your company even further.

Think of Desk Elf as Google Wave crossed with BaseCamp, and add a human element to the equation if you want to understand what this new application is all about. You see, Desk Elf is a new Internet service that empowers entrepreneurs to connect with real, live professionals in order to fuel and power their startups.
The services which can be thus taken care of fall in three categories: “Office”, “Professional” and “Executive”. By way of example, the services included in the “Office” category include data entry and email management, whereas the “Professional” category encompasses services such as content writing, graphic design and web hosting. And the services which are grouped under the “Executive” label include social media management, legal assistance and life coaching.

When it comes to the plans that are featured, you can choose to be charged both by time usage (IE, hourly) and by project.

The inspiration behind this initiative, then, is giving both entrepreneurs and small business owners a ready chance to outsource and hire professionals who would be out of their reach otherwise. I think that enough services are provided to satisfy mostly everybody, but I encourage you to visit the site and arrive at your own conclusions.

Cleener is an anti-piracy filter that both public and private companies can implement in order to ensure that their employees will not download anything that they shouldn’t when they are supposed to be working. Something like this is important for two reasons. In first place, it ensures that employees won’t get distracted looking for a copy of the newest movie starring Kate Beckinsale, or the most recent episode of “Glee”. And in second place (and perhaps more importantly), limiting the access that employees have to pirated content is the same as reducing the chances of computers becoming infected with viruses.
The way Cleener works is by cross-referencing the URLs that your employees want to access with the ones contained in Cleener’s own list of illegal links, torrents and files.

Cleener is available for free, and the filter is provided through a simple API that can actually be used from a wide rang of programming languages. A sample script is in fact provided on the site, and you can take it as it is or proceed to adapt it to your company’s actual needs.

The objective of Hobfo is letting hobbyists find all the information that there is to be found online about their passions. It doesn’t matter what it is that they enjoy doing, or what items they collect – this search tool will do the trick.
What good is this over carrying out a Google search? Well, the answer is that since the site is a specialized one to begin with, there will be fewer results to browse through once the search has been executed. Just think about how flooded the Internet becomes day after day with new sites that have some sort of thematic connection among themselves but which are irrelevant to most searches that we conduct. Having a specialized search engine like this one can but let us save a considerable amount of time.

And with Hobfo you can also browse different categories such as “Sport”, “Music”, “Art” and “Collecting”. That is, you are not limited to executing searches. You can browse everything as if it were a directory. And the site has a very user friendly interface and a simple design which keeps clutter to a minimum.

Looking for some music to enliven a dull work day? There is no shortage of services that will let you find songs and listen to them online, and also download them to your hard drive for offline listening. MP3 Gangster is one such resource, and despite being a brand-new site it has already got quite a satisfactory database for you to browse through. As a matter of fact, over 800,000 MP3s are already featured and that number is growing rapidly.
Searching this database is made very simple by the inclusion of categories that map out all the genres that prove to be more popular among people – “Rock”, “Pop”, “Electronic”, “Metal”, “Hip Hop”… the list is a long one. And there is even an “Indie” category for those who like to focus their attention on sounds that move away from the mainstream.

Additionally, a section named “Top Downloads” and another entitled “World’s Music Tops” will give you more than enough options if you simply want something good to listen to, but you don’t have the time (or the patience) to carry out a search yourself.

Zferral is the right site to check if you are looking into ways in which you could take your business into a new league. In general terms, the site will enable you to create affiliate and referral programs using a unified dashboard. This dashboard will let you take care of each and every operation – creating campaigns, setting down commissions the overall management of affiliates… Of course, it will also let you track analytics with ease.
Once you have created a campaign, promoting it through your site is made all the more immediate by adding a “call to action” button that will link directly to the new program. Creating this button couldn’t be easier, as Zferral takes care of generating the code that you then proceed to cut and paste into your site.

Five plans are already featured – one is free, and it is limited to 2 campaigns and 10 affiliates. The remaining four plans all come at a cost, and they go by the names of “Bootstrap”, “Angel”, “VC” and “IPO”. They differ not only in the number of supported campaigns and affiliates, but also in other aspects such as the limits for the monthly payouts that you can make.

There are a lot of productivity tools already available, so it’s good to see a new one that takes a somehow different approach to it all such as Teamly. While other productivity tools let you set down as many tasks as you want at the same time, Teamly has you focusing only on five. You can choose five priorities for the day, for the week, even for the whole month. But you can’t choose more than that, so as not to lose focus.
The application is still in beta, and some (important) functionalities such as receiving automatic emails reminding you of these things you have to do in order to make your goals come true are yet to be implemented. But you can already see statistics that showcase how you are progressing towards fulfilling your aims. And reports can be printed right away, too, and checked when you are not online.

Besides, you can already share your plans with your friends and acquaintances. In this way, you will feel more supported. And this is specially important if your objective is something like stopping smoking, or anything of comparable transcendence.

The basic premise of My Job Chart is teaching children responsible behavior along with the importance of being self-organized when facing any task in life. The way My Job Chart works is by letting parents assign jobs to their children, and then giving them a reward when that assignment has been carried to completion.
Jobs of every kind can be assigned using this application – homework, yardwork, housework… we could say that My Job Chart is a tool meant to let children deal with chores in a rewarding way, and beginning to grasp the concept that sometimes in life you will have to do things that are not that motivating or even entertaining, but you will have to soldier on and deal with them as part of your job. And while you might not feel internal satisfaction for having done that, you will at least have the monetary gratification that comes with a job that is done right.

And My Job Chart is an inexpensive application, too. You can get an account for free, and create a chore chart right away. Plus, the fact that charts are already fully viewable in most devices (including iPads) makes everything all the more appealing.

Bergfiles can be defined as a search engine for most file sharing sites available on the Internet today. As it stands right now, Bergfiles will let you download movies, music, games, software and e-books directly from Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile, Mediafire and 4shared.
The way this system works is by using a search spider in order to create a database with all the files that have been uploaded recently to the sharing services mentioned above. This search spider goes through sites, forums, message boards… all the possible locations where download links could be located are taken into account. Then, when you carry out a search the criteria that you input will be matched with the information that is contained in this database.

As a system, Bergfiles is certainly benefited by the fact that rich and relevant metadata for each page is also collected by the spider. In practice, this means that when you search for a file (any file – a video, a song, a software application, a documents…) your chances of finding more relevant results are increased.
